Wacom Inkspace App App Reviews

2 add

The app is terrible. First, I couldn't login to my Wacom account. I'd try to log in and it works time out. I tried for two days. Finally called customer service, waited on hold for 30 minutes, and still got nowhere. 2 days later I was emailed instructions to clear my browser cache and then to login via a different link. That fixed it. Happy to be logged in, I could finally try the handwriting to text. It worked the first time. Now every time it just says "operation failed"

Doesn't work. The main draw for me was the ink to text. As a result the Spark tablet is nothing more than an expensive paper weight. What a disappointment from a company from which I had come to expect great results. What a waste of money. DO NOT BUY THIS, YOU WILL BE NOTHING BUT DISAPPOINTED.

Poor

I agree with previous reviewer. I am writing notes on Bamboo Paper app on surface and there is no way on the app to revisit these same notes on my phone at all. Terrible

Wish it would work with my Wacom Intuos pro

As the title suggests I was expecting this app to work with my Wacom intuos pro like the app suggested but it won’t connect with it. Might connect with other Wacom products but I hope the app would of work for my tablet like I wanted to since my computer died and I wanted to make digital art again with my tablet.

Great for writing

I spend all day at work on a computer. When I want to write, the thought of spending even more time at the keyboard is not appealing at all. Increased risk of repetitive motion injuries is also a concern. Writing in a notebook has been my alternative but that comes with its own issues - mainly transcribing my hand written notes onto a computer which is tedious and kind of defeats the purpose of hand writing in the first place. So I bought a Bamboo Slate. I hand write on the Slate and the use this app to transform my handwritting into editable text. I then export text into a note in the Notes app on my phone. Inkspace lets me export new pages to an existing note so it’s easy to keep pages in order. Inkspace does a good job of translating my handwriting into text. It is teaching me to be a little more careful - dotting my i’s etc. I can’t fault the app for errors where my handwritting would give a human reader trouble. I sync to my phone after every page and it has worked flawlessly so far. My one minor issue is that the editable text has a return at the end of each written line. So a little additional clean up required to get returns only at the end of paragraphs. It would be helpful if I could enable a mode where text was translated without returns unless I wrote a paragraph symbol - or something like that. Or just treat the page as a single line of text; it would be easier to add 2 or 3 returns than deleting a lot of extraneous returns. I’d give the app 5 stars with that feature. So Bamboo Slate let’s me write my initial draft without typing and then easily convert it to editable text for further editing and archiving.

App needs better note management capabilities

App is far too basic. There is no way to combine notes. So if you sync and then want to add something to the same page --> impossible! This can not be by design but must be an error. Please fix asap.

Notebook View and Page Skim Feature

Bamboo slate smart pad is good. The App is bad. The app functionality for storing and revisiting your prior notes is extremely poor. (1)First, MAKE INKSPACE THUMBNAIL VIEW REGTANGULAR INSTEAD OF SQARE! The note we take and save is rectangular in shape. I do not understand why the thumbnail page view in Wacom inkspace is all square shape with only the view of the center part of each page. You cannot see the complete note page by looking at the thumbnail page view, making it extremely difficult to identify and locate the note you want. You have to literally open up each page in order to find the page you want. (2) Second, ADD SLIDE BAR QUICK PAGE VIEW. The current notebook browsing function is poor. You have to open up each page and flip each page one by one to browse the notes you take and locate the page you need. When at full page view, why can’t you add a slide bar at the bottom, so people can slide the bar to quickly browse all pages in full page view, just like Kindle app book browsing function. Generally, I feel this app is designed to work on individual pages, not designed for people who needs to take real notes. You need to make note storing and browsing more functional and make the digital notebook in Inkspace more useful like a real notebook, in order to make the app and the Bamboo Slate more useful and meaningful.

I don’t have the devices you want me to pair

I have an older Wacom product add all the Wacom products

Please add ability to apply multiple tags at once

Good update, would be nice to add multiple tags at once without the screen backing out after selecting one tag.

I have a request

So... I do like it and it’s cool. My mom bought this Wacom sketch pad pro for my birthday because I LOVE drawing. Buuuuutttt... can you guys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add something so that I can color and print my drawings? Thanks!

Life saver

I cut back on my unpaid electronic record submission by 7 hours a week, this app and device (folio) have saved the day!

I’d like to suggest a feature to add.

Their should be an option to go back to a previous page and add more content. I organize my notes with a different topic on each page and will add an idea to the appropriate topic page as it comes to mind. It’s current setup has got me rethinking if the bamboo slate is right for me? Aside from that everything else has been fine.

Does not work

Registered but app does not work!

Crashes before it even starts

Useless. How can I provide a proper review when it won’t even get past the launch screen before shutting down? Spoiler alert: one star.

Last Crashes

The latest update crashes the app as soon as it opens. Using iPhone Xs, iOS 12.0.1. Help please!

incompatible

incompatible i pad mini ios 12

No color

It would be nice to have color on the app or if the app have the color feature. It all black and white.

Cannot use the program wants me to connect pen... not happening yet.

Just got Bamboo 3 pen today and all programs that I have tried except for this one can connect to pen. FY I have iPad 6 (not Pro).

Can’t do “ink to doc or text” any more!

PLEASE FIX IT!!!

Cannot pair

Could not even pair to the device. In desperation tried an android phone and same results.

Couldn't even pair up my device

When I tried to connect my intuos, it told me to "hold button for six seconds". I tried every button on my phone and my intuos, and none of them did anything.

BUG

When I zoom in on part of a drawing and at the same time, try to move/pan that zoomed part, back spaces will show up instead of drawings that are offscreen.

Multi select PLEASE!!

The app does what it says but is in desperate need to be modernized with some functionality. I work for a large company and this is a great idea for meeting minutes and plans but it is a huge hurdle to not be able to combine multiple pages in to one file or pdf.

Syncing Between Services

Pathetic attempt at an app that is required to use Wacom devices. At the very least, please please PLEASE provide a way to auto-sync notes with Evernote or Dropbox. The advertising makes it seem like this is easy, but you soon discover that syncing notes is a manual process. Select each note and export; oh, and the user will have to keep track of which notes have already been synced. You make great hardware, Wacom! Leave the software development to companies that know what they’re doing!

Ink to text good. Combine pages- terrible.

So it works with decent efficiency letting me take notes, and then capture those notes digitally, and translate those notes to text. It drops a page here or there, which can be frustrating, and the text recognition is decent but not great, but overall it does the job ok. It also can export to Evernote and OneNote and others. What would be Much smarter is if it let you export the image alongside the text into a single note - so that when you're in Evernote, correcting the 20-40% of text that it got wrong, you have the original right there. Where it fails is the "combine pages" functionality. If you take 10 pages of notes in a meeting, it would be nice to make that one note that is 10 pages long- and one export to Evernote or OneNote or whatever. Except that's not what combine pages does. It merges all pages into one note One Page Long, all on top of each other. So instead of 10 pages of notes, I have one page of gobbledygook. EDIT: it is apparently possible to go back and re "split" pages laid on top of each other accidentally. So at least the combine mess can be undone. Why on earth would ANYONE think that's the way "combine pages" would work??? Did this not go through a single user test? This might be nice for a one page note you started and then finished later. But that seems like a much weaker use case than merging multiple pages of notes into one long note. 3 stars for the core functionality working decently. Negative 2 stars for that monstrosity of a broken feature that is "combine pages". Edit: you can export multiple pages of notes as a single note to Evernote (assuming also OneNote), you just have to select them all at time of export. Again- would be much nicer to have this as One “note” in InkSpace, instead of having to piece together what goes with what by digging into each note.

Not working

After a long while, it finally uploaded the page, and now it is frozen in Optimizing. Frozen. I close the app and reopen. Still frozen. I am very disappointed.

Does not work

This app is so bad, it made me write my first negative review. There is no way to login from iPhone. Forms do not work well with latest iOS.

Execution too poor to even bother

My boyfriend bought me the bamboo slate. I do a lot of art, lots of physical with/and digital. He was thinking I could lay out a drawing with pen using the slate's provided notepad, then edit it digitally with the app. The app was useless for anything useful. I have a paid digital art/editing app I could upload the original image to in order to do anything beyond semi-decent, but wasn't worth it... First, to clear up what many have mentioned: no, you really can't do much useful editing at all to your work once you've uploaded to the app. Second, why I don't even use the tablet and what I was leading to initially: linework uploads misaligned. I'm very careful to keep the notepaper that was provided in place while working; no matter what, linework uploads completely astray. Drawings are butchered using this app... Finally, In truth, this app and device isn't really much any better than taking a photo of handwritten notes/drawings and editing them with your basic phone photo editing features. If the linework uploaded properly, I could save the media from this app and transfer it to my digital media/art app. But it's not worth it.

PEOPLE!!!!! THIS APP IS AMAZING

It's good shut it about it being bad I mean jeez!

Hack job and false advertising

This app is awful. Got my son the slate for Christmas with the assumption it could be colored. Didn’t say anything about a cost for that kind of thing. Actually I had to do quite a bit of digging to figure that out. Not user friendly at all. I would agree with others: avoid anything this company sells. Built with low standards and even less thought.

Won’t work

I open the app and have the pen in pairing mode but it always says ‘couldn’t find device’ On iPhone 6s plus

Cannot even open the app!

Downloaded the app and registered online (via my iPad Pro). That's as far as I get. When I open the app it wants me to connect a bluetooth device. My apple pencil is already connected to the iPad but the app doesn't find it + it wants me to hold something (a button I presume) for 6 sec. What the hell?

MULTIPLE SELECT FOR TAGS

PLEASE PLEASE make an update for this app that would add ONE THING: that one could have the ability to select MULTIPLE pages within a selected tag-group of pages!!! With this, I will be able to export my pages in organized groups to my one drive waaaay faster than I would have to now. I am aware that you can select multiple pages to export when on the home screen, BUT, when viewing my home screen, I cannot always tell the difference between a page of my notes that is tagged under one thing and another page that is tagged under something else. The tag groups are sufficient enough organization for my needs, however, I need to export these pages to an app that is compatible with the Apple Watch (one drive) without having to re-organize every single page I export to my one drive one by one. PLEASE MAKE THIS SMALL ADDITION IN AN UPDATE ASAP! IT WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Slightly improved

Update (11/7/17) Tags are a much needed improvement and work well. I’d still like to see the ability to create separate notebooks or folders to work with the tagging in addition to a better navigation system. Scrolling through years of notes is not Greta. I’m glad to see that development is still ongoing with this product that I’ve invested $200+ in and I am hopeful of more improvements down the road. Original Review: Functionality is pretty lackluster to put it mildly.

I don’t get it..

When I went on the game and I got started I didn’t know what the turn on your device was trying to say and I didn’t even get it.....

Crash when sync with the Bamboo Slate

It crashed every single time while my bamboo slate is trying to sync with my iPhone 7. I couldn't use bamboo slate for ages. Make an alternate way to sync data of the bamboo slate. Do Not forces user to use this crappy application.

Bamboo

I had this app for years and loved it. Then one day it froze- wouldn't open. YEARS of notes lost and I cried! So they said redownload load it, sign in and you won't loose your notebooks again. Lies! Just lost it all again!!!! I will never use another app by this company ever again. I recommend to all to AVOID this company at all costs.

Much better and still growing

I am still looking forward to exporting as a movie, but the iOS version is solid.

Everything works finally! Except line thicknesses...

Keep in mind I'm not using the subscription, I'm only using this with my bamboo slate. Everything I write down on my slate while I'm away from my iPad gets backed up painlessly through Bluetooth, ZERO backup issues all my notes have been saved, no weird crashes or problems. The slate stays on for 15 minutes without activity just perfect for meeting and conferences. Two Major issues, Number 1. Line thickness, all line thicknesses are the same, either really thick or just thick, almost no difference, it feels like the pen sensitivity is stuck between two settings "thick" and "very thick". Number 2. Resolution appears to be 300dpi, as an artist I find this unacceptable, I'd rather pay many times more to have my lines drawn exactly as they are on my pad. What does this mean if you are taking notes? It's ok and acceptable, but for artwork it's UNACCEPTABLE. Lines drawn at an angle show up jagged, circles and arcs look jagged too. This means that even with considerable skill the line work looks like it was drawn in MS Paint. Don't get me wrong, this is really good for students and note taking, I'm keeping my slate and I LOVE this app because it JUST WORKS! But as a tool for artists this is quite limited. It needs pen line weight sensitivity and higher dpi.

Wacom has horrible customer service

The Inkspace web app and the servers were down this week. No warning or notice. I had no access to the notes. Wacom' customer service was less than helpful. Great hardware, bad software, worst service...

@writeguy416

I think you're supposed to push the button each time at the end of each page before flipping to a new one. That way it registers that you're starting a new page of notes. That's probably why your ten pages of notes are all showing up on the same page, as opposed to individually. Let me know if it works! :)

Disappointed

Purchased the device for use with iPhone 7 and Had high hopes. The app doesn't work.

Terrible

One of the worst apps I've ever downloaded. Complete waste of my time. Account login doesn't work. Stay away and don't waste your time or money on a Wacom Slate. UPDATE: Contacted Wacom support and was forced to submit a form. Took almost one week for Wacom to reply. The solution they recommended did not work and all it accomplished was wasting more of my time. If I could rate this app -5 stars I would - it's that bad.

Does not work

Downloaded app. Cannot log in.

Unable to login

The app is completely useless without being able to login. The Bamboo Folio is being sent back today. Hardware is good. Software is terrible.

Terrible.

You have to login to a Wacom account to get the handwriting recognition feature, but when you try to login, it times out. I've tried on my phone and my iPad, on wifi, on cellular, over the course of several hours and nothing. I can login to the account on my computer, so it's not an account issue, it's an app issue.

5 stars

Works perfectly

Usability issues and weak features

Navigation has no indicator of how to move back, no arrows and no X's. Via ESP or magic you have to know to tap the plain black header. Box of the Bamboo Slate shows color being used in app. I assumed this was in Inkspace because Bamboo Paper is not available on the phone. I was wrong or this functionality is hidden for some weird reason. Still functions at a minimum level for me but it is rather disappointing. I am not sure how long I will continue to use it.

App needs some work

This app has limited features. Unlike videos that Wacom shows to buyers purchasing bamboo spark, this app has no feature to highlight written text in multi colors. No feature to file the images under different topics, or tag them for easy classification. Registering for Inkspace cloud with google is not working. The page just lands up nowhere. The menu/help section shows a link to download another app called bamboo paper. Again, when u click on it, it reaches a dead link on Wacom and u get a 404 not found.

Funciona

Me gusta es fácil de usar y transportar; pero no entiendo cómo se supone que pinte de algún color lo que hago (como muestra la imagen de la caja). Ayuda si alguien sabe cómo

Doesn't work

It starts up and asks me to sign up. Then loads a blank page. Worthless.
